Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo once demanded that the club must sign one specific manager, and they should have listened.
Since the departure of legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson back in 2013, it's fair to say that the Manchester United dugout has been in nearly constant upheaval.
After 27 years in charge, that saw him win 13 Premier League titles, two Champions League titles, and numerous other trophies, the Scotsman was always going to be a tough man to replace.
The likes of Jose Mourinho, Erik ten Hag and current boss Ruben Amorim are just some of the eight different managers that have been in charge at Old Trafford since Ferguson's retirement, with each of them having varying levels of success.

But there is one manager that Ronaldo was adamant United should have brought in who would have certainly been one of the club's best-ever appointments.
Following a 4-1 defeat to Watford back in November 2021, United finally made the decision to part ways with former player Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who replaced Mourinho as the permanent United manager in March 2019.
Despite leading United to second in the Premier League in the 2020/21 season, Solskjaer faced pressure throughout much of his time at United.

Once it was finally confirmed that the Norwegian boss had been sacked, rumours immediately began circulating regarding who would come in as his replacement ahead of the second half of the 19/20 season.
And a report at the time from Sky Sports revealed that Ronaldo was lobbying for Luis Enrique to be handed the job of United manager in place of his former teammate and boss.
At the time, Enrique was in charge of the Spain national team, having previously led Barcelona to victory in the in 2015 Champions League final.

Of course, United opted against listening to the club legend, instead opting to appoint Ralf Rangnick as interim boss before Ten Hag took the permanent position following the end of the season.
Meanwhile Enrique officially took over as manager of French giants Paris Saint-Germain in July 2023, where he has seen nothing but success winning a domestic treble in his first season before taking this one better with a continental treble last season.
And the Spaniard still has the chance to add to last season's impressive haul of the Ligue 1 title, the Coupe de France and the Champions League as his PSG side face Chelsea in the final of the Club World Cup on Sunday evening.
