Although it is only speculation at this stage, fans may expect that Ronaldo will be involved in a Saudi Arabian bid given his strong ties to both United and Saudi Arabia.
And with the news that has officially become football's first billionaire, the Al Nassr forward is in the financial position to get involved with his former club.

Ronaldo enjoyed two spells at United, scoring 145 goals in that time, but he left in 2022, following a controversial interview with Piers Morgan.
He spoke out against the club hierarchy again in 2024, shortly after Ruben Amorim was appointed as head coach.

At the Globe Soccer Awards in the United Arab Emirates, he said: "I said this one and a half years ago, and I will continue to say it: "The problem is not the coaches. It's like an aquarium. If you have the fish inside and he's sick and you take him out and you fix the problem and you put him again in an aquarium they will be sick again.

"The problem of Manchester United is the same. The problem is not always the coach. It's much more than that.
"If I will be the owner of the club, I will make things clear and adjust what I think is bad there."
Club ownership is clearly something that has crossed Ronaldo's mind as retirement edges closer.
But he has previously said he would like to continue until he's 40.
