Cristiano Ronaldo is aiming to help rebuild the Al-Nassr team to help the club retain its Saudi Pro League crown and to win the AFC Champions League Elite for the first time, and it appears he wants a Premier League captain to join the club to ensure this happens.
The Portuguese captain has reportedly requested that the club's sporting director be granted full and independent authority to execute the reinforcement plan and compete more effectively next season.
That is according to 365scores, as Ronaldo wants to ensure that the squad is built to be able to build on their success last season, as they lifted their 11th Saudi Pro League title.
It is believed that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner insisted that there be no administrative interference as Simao (sporting director) and Semedo (executive director) do their work in the transfer market this summer.

In the same report it is believed that Ronaldo is looking to bring his compatriot and Manchester United captain, Bruno Fernandes, to Saudi Arabia and that the five-time Champions League winner is the one leading the chase for the midfielder.

It has been reported that the reason why Al-Nassr are inquiring about a deal to bring Fernandes to the club is because contract renewal talks are believed to have stalled between Fernandes and Manchester United, so there is a hope he can be persuaded into a move to Saudi Arabia.
The Portuguese pair did not have the best summer at the World Cup, as their nation were eliminated by Spain at the round of 16, before having to watch their Iberian rivals lift the trophy in the final against Argentina.
However, the pair have proven in the past to be pivotal for their nation and its success at international level, as they won the 2019 and 2025 Nations League titles.
Fernandes would be a fantastic addition to Al-Nassr for the upcoming season, as he had an incredible last campaign for Manchester United as he scored nine goals and assisted on 21 occasions in the Premier League.
Despite, according to reports, his contract renewal being stalled, it would surely take a significant offer from Al-Nassr to convince United to part with their captain and last season’s Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year, an award he has collected on five occasions.
