Arsenal are reportedly planning a stunning move to sign a Premier League rival's top target if they miss out on Vinicius Junior.
After weeks of negotiations, it appears that Arsenal have finally secured a deal for top target Bruno Guimaraes after agreeing on a £75million transfer fee for the Newcastle United captain.
The midfielder is set to complete a medical later this week ahead of signing a contract that will reportedly keep him at the Emirates until 2031.
Following the completion of the move, it is now expected that Arsenal will turn their attention towards signing Guimaraes national teammate Vinicius Junior, who has strongly been linked with a move away from Real Madrid this summer.

The Brazilian is yet to agree a new new contract with the Spanish giants ahead of his current deal expiring next summer and negotiations had reportedly stalled due to several key demands made by Vinicius.
With just weeks left until the transfer window closes on September 1, it's widely been reported that the next few days will be crucial for the 26-year-old's future, with Real Madrid likely to sell him if he doesn't agree new terms soon.
Should Vinicius leave Real Madrid this summer, it's been widely reported that Arsenal would be his most likely destination, but it now appears that the Spanish side are willing to go all out to secure his long-term future.
As reported by David Ornstein, Real have now made an improved contract offer to Vinicius Junior following talks between his representatives and general director Jose Angel Sanchez and chief scout Juni Calafat on Wednesday.
Prior to the meeting, it was reported that Real Madrid was not willing to meet Vinicius Junior's financial demands, but the club have now raised their offer to a level that they believe reflects the winger's importance to them and the project.

Arsenal prepared move to hijack Premier League rival's top transfer
It remains to be seen if Real Madrid's new offer will be enough to convince Vinicius Junior to stay at the Bernabeu for the foreseeable future or if he will continue to consider a move elsewhere.
However, should the Brazilian decide against a move to the Emirates, then they are reportedly ready to pivot and attempt to hijack Liverpool's pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola.
According to talkSPORT, the Gunners are interested after the France World Cup star turned down multipe contract offers from PSG in recent months.
That being said, it is still believed that it is far more likely that Barcola will join Liverpool if he is to leave the French capital this summer, with negotiations between the two clubs already taking place.
And even if they were to hijack Liverpool's pursuit of Barcola, it's likely that Arsenal would have to put up a fee somewhere around PSG's £140m asking price to get the deal across the finish line.
