Manchester United are set to include an unexpected clause in Alejandro Garnacho’s proposed move to Chelsea.
Garnacho, 21, has been heavily linked with a move away from Manchester United throughout the summer after being told he can find another club by Ruben Amorim following the fallout of the Europa League final defeat to Spurs back in May.
"Up until the final, I’ve played every round, and today to play 20 minutes… I don’t know,” Garnacho said after the final.
The Argentinian winger has since been linked with several clubs, including Chelsea, Napoli and Saudi Arabian sides.

But at long last, a switch to Stamford Bridge appears to be close.
On Thursday evening (August 28), The Athletic reported that Chelsea have agreed a deal with United for the signing of Garnacho.

The report suggests that the deal consists of a £40million fixed fee, with the player set to sign a contract until 2032.

Garnacho is expected to undergo a medical on Friday.
Upon the completion of his move, the 21-year-old will become the first United player to be sold for a fee this summer.
Alongside the £40m fee United are set to receive, they may also benefit from a 10 per cent sell-on clause included in the package.
Garnacho will leave United having registered 26 goals and 22 assists in 144 appearances for the club since his debut in 2022.

The youngster scored in United’s 2023/24 FA Cup victory over Manchester City, as well as featuring as an unused substitute during the Red Devils’ Carabao Cup final win against Newcastle during the 2022/23 campaign.
Garnacho will become Chelsea’s tenth signing of the summer, having welcomed Jorrell Hato, Estevao, Jamie Gittens, Joao Pedro, Kendry Paez, Mamadou Sarr, Liam Delap, Jesse Derry and Dario Essugo.

As for United, several more players could leave before the September 1 deadline.

It has been widely reported that Rasmus Hojlund’s proposed loan deal to Napoli is close, with Fabrizio Romano issuing an update on Thursday.
Romano wrote: “Matter of short time and Rasmus Højlund will become a new Napoli player.”
The out-of-favour Antony is linked with a second loan to Real Betis, while Jadon Sancho has been heavily linked with a switch to AS Roma.
