Scott McTominay has reportedly phoned one of his former Manchester United teammates to convince him to join Napoli this summer.
Nearly one year after he left boyhood club United to move to Italy and join Serie A giants Napoli, McTominay is clearly loving life at his new club.
In his first season with the Italian side, the Scotland international scored 12 goals in 34 league appearances, playing a crucial role in Antonio Conte's side beating Inter Milan to the title.
His efforts across the season led to him being named the Serie A MVP (Most Valuable Player) for 2024/25 and earned him a nomination for the Ballon d'Or.

And now, it appears that McTominay is trying to use his influence both at Napoli and United to convince one of his former teammates to join him in making the move from Old Trafford to the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

With just one week left in the summer transfer window, several of the biggest clubs in the Premier League remain active organising both incomings and outgoings.
One of the clubs expected to be particularly busy is United, who will look to sell several players before the window closes on September 1.

Alongside the likes of Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho, United are believed to be working on a deal to let Rasmus Hojlund leave the club this summer following the signing of new striker Benjamin Sesko.
According to Italian publication Corriere Dello Sport, Napoli are among the clubs considering making a move for the Denmark international, asking McTominay to make a personal phone call to the United striker to convince him to join.

During their time together at Old Trafford, McTominay and Hojlund made 34 appearances together, combining for a goal in the Champions League group stage match against FC Copenhagen.

United are said to be open to the move, claiming that a €5million (£4.3m) loan deal with an obligation to buy for an additional €40m (£35m) would be their preferred option.
However, it remains to be seen whether McTominay's powers of persuasion have been successful, with Hojlund also heavily linked with Serie A rivals AC Milan.
