An unlikely name has been mentioned in conversations between Manchester United and Chelsea as they continue to negotiate the transfer of Alejandro Garnacho.
Chelsea remain in talks with United over a deal to sign Garnacho, who has been told he can leave Old Trafford after being named in the so-called 'bomb squad' alongside Antony, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia.
The 21-year-old is 'very optimistic' about joining Enzo Maresca's side, according to Fabrizio Romano.

"Chelsea expects the Alejandro Garnacho deal to happen," said Romano on his YouTube channel. "I think we will have a 'Here We Go' this week. The player feels this deal will happen."
Garnacho has turned down moves to Italy, Saudi Arabia and Germany this summer, as well as other Premier League clubs, in favour of a proposed switch to Chelsea.
Chelsea academy product mentioned in Garnacho negotiations
In his latest video, Fabrizio Romano goes on to suggest that highly-rated forward Tyrique George was mentioned during negotiations between Manchester United and Chelsea in recent weeks.
"This is a behind-the-scenes story I can reveal to you on these negotiations, but from what I'm told, this option was already stopped a few weeks ago," he said regarding George's involvement in the deal.

"At the moment, Tyrique George is not part of those conversations."
George, meanwhile, is one of the names being considered by Roma, who have made enquiries about the player following his breakout season at Chelsea last term, which featured three goals and five assists in 26 appearances.
Man Utd mentioned another Chelsea player in negotiations
Earlier this week, it was reported that Chelsea’s opening bid for Garnacho will be close to £30 million rather than United’s asking price of at least £50 million, according to transfer expert Ben Jacobs.

Jacobs also revealed Chelsea’s Andrey Santos, who spent the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Ligue 1 side Strasbourg, was mentioned in discussions between the clubs.
“Andrey Santos has been spoken about, I don’t think it’s going to lead anywhere because Chelsea don’t want to sell," he told The United Stand. "That’s another player that Manchester United appreciates, it’s nothing more than that at this stage.”
