Beat Luke Littler airs on Netflix on Friday evening (October 30), and 24 contestants are lining up to try and beat the two-time world champion in a leg of 501 to walk away with £501,000.
When the show was announced, Netflix marketed it as an opportunity for 24 amateurs to take on and beat Littler, though the only genuine criteria was that entrants could not have held a PDC tour card and is the reason why several familiar faces to darts fans are involved.
The broadcasting powerhouse caused backlash when professional players were allowed to enter the audition process. Fallon Sherrock, the only woman to win a World Darts Championship match and reach the third round at Alexandra Palace, was the standout name alongside teenage prodigy Mitchell Lawrie, who became the youngest player to win a match at the WDF World Championship in November 2025. But what are the odds of any player beating Littler in a 501 leg and walking away with the £501,000 prize?

One key part of the show is that there is only one winner of the £501,000 total prize - the event stops as soon as one of the 24 players beats Littler.
The 19-year-old will undoubtedly sweep aside the several amateur players who, like the well-known darts stars, came through a three-stage audition process to get the chance to face him.
Firstly, they had to check out a leg of 501 in 24 darts or fewer, and anyone who failed was immediately eliminated. The contestants who progressed were then interviewed by the show's production team and, if they reached the third stage, they had their throw assessed by some of the sport's biggest names, Wayne Mardle, Laura Turner and Phil Taylor.
Of all the 24 players, 15-year-old Lawrie is the only player to beat Littler in a 501 leg. The 2025 WDF World Youth champion secured a 4-3 victory over him at the World Cup junior darts tournament in 2023.
"It was at the World Cup junior darts in Gibraltar in 2023, Scotland against England, and we beat the team that Luke Littler was in," he recalled.
"We beat them 4-3 in a deciding leg, and it's one of those memories that sticks with you forever.
"We also went on to win that tournament. It is the first time Scotland ever won the World Cup, and it was my first year - it was something else.
"It was a surreal experience that I would love to have back."

Netflix responds to criticism over Beat Luke Littler decision
The inclusion of players such as Lawrie and Sherrock, who have competed at a high level in the sport, caused backlash from fans, as the event was sold on pub players given a chance to topple the world No. 1.
But Netflix confirmed that even the professional players had to wait in queues for the heats in London and Manchester alongside the part-time and amateur players before attending the subsequent audition interviews.
"The application and audition process for Beat Luke Littler was the same for everyone and open only to people aged 12 and over who do not hold – and have never held – a PDC Tour Card," a Netflix spokesperson told City AM.
"The final 24 that have been selected for the chance to face Luke this week, all queued up to compete in the heats in London or Manchester, respectively, and managed to complete a leg of 501 in 24 darts or less to prove their darting ability.”
Littler will be incredibly determined to stop every player in his tracks when he steps up to the oche at 8pm on Friday, while preventing them from walking away with the £501,000 prize.
