Two shock clubs exploring Phil Foden transfer after Man City star is 'blacklisted' by Pep Guardiola

The Englishman could be set for a shock transfer away from Manchester City in the summer.

The two clubs reportedly interested in making a move for Phil Foden have been named after Pep Guardiola reportedly made it clear that he is willing to let the star move on.

Ever since he made his senior debut for Manchester City back in November 2017, Foden has established himself as one of the most important players in a squad that has gone on to win it all.

The 24-year-old has made over 300 appearances for the reigning Premier League champions and yet, is one of four players that City boss Guardiola has blacklisted from the club, making it clear he is happy to let them leave if a suitable offer appears.

With that in mind, two massive European sides have made their interests in Foden known, and they could make massive moves when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

Despite a disappointing season from many of City's star players, Guardiola has reportedly only given the green light for four key players to move on, with Football365 claims that Ilkay Gundogan, Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva and, perhaps most surprisingly, Foden could be set to leave.

With Gundogan, De Bruyne and Silva all over the age of 30, it's less likely that they will be able to turn their performances around enough to justify their massive wages, but, despite his youth, it appears Guardiola has also grown tired of Foden.

And should it become clear that the Englishman is for sale in the future, then the report claims that both Real Madrid and Bayern Munich will consider launching a massive pursuit for his signature.

The report claims: "The big surprise on this blacklist is Phil Foden. Although the youth player has been one of the most important players of City in recent years, sources close to the club assure that his continuity is no longer non-negotiable.

"Guardiola believes that his role in the team could evolve, and if a huge offer arrives, City would seriously consider its sale.

"With Real Madrid and Bayern Munich attentive to their situation, Foden’s future could become one of the great soap operas on the market.

"Guardiola trusts him, but in City they know that an offer of more than 150 million euros could make them change their minds."

The Catalan manager has regularly been outspoken about his admiration for Foden and his abilities but, while the report claims that he still trusts the midfielder, his willingness to let him leave the club perhaps shows that his faith in Foden has taken a blow in the wake of recent performances.
