In the clip, fans can be heard singing the chant 'Manchester is full of s***' while the United team bus passes.

One supporter, who is filming, is shown carrying a glass bottle.

Another fan appears to say 'go', prompting the other individual to throw the bottle at the team bus.

Thankfully, it appears to bounce off the vehicle without causing injury to United's squad.

Manchester United and Liverpool are yet to comment on the incident.

PA's chief football writer Simon Peach confirmed the bus had been damaged.

"Bottle thrown at the United bus - smashed part of a window on the upper deck," he posted on X.

In 2018, Manchester City's team bus was damaged by projectiles ahead of a Champions League quarter-final tie.

A similar incident occurred ahead of another match against City in 2022, while Greater Manchester Police launched an investigation in April after Liverpool's own team coach was damaged following their 4-1 defeat at the Etihad.

In November, City and Liverpool wrote to their supporters to urge them to behave themselves during their Premier League match.

Liverpool referenced missile throwing in their letter, while City highlighted tragedy chanting.

Both sets of fans were warned that action would be taken against those found to have misbehaved.
