Liverpool are weighing up their options as they prepare for life without Mohamed Salah – and they have firmly established their interest in one player in particular, according to reports in Spain.
Salah will leave Liverpool following their final game of the season against Brentford on Sunday.
The 33-year-old, who has scored 19 goals in all competitions across the 2025-26 campaign, has struggled at times in recent months, but finding a replacement for one of the club's greatest-ever players will be tough, to say the least.
A report from The Athletic suggests RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande has emerged as a leading target as they look to strengthen their attacking line.

And ahead of the club's final game of the season, it emerged that Liverpool are also showing a huge amount of interest in Athletic Bilbao forward Nico Williams, who is expected to leave Los Leones this summer.

Several teams are monitoring Williams' delicate situation but Liverpool have shown the most interest 'by far' as they look to replace Salah, according to El Nacional.
Williams has a release clause of around €95 million (£82m), although Bilbao are open to negotiating for a lower figure, adds the report, which claims the Spanish side cannot afford to continue paying his hefty salary.
It has been an injury-hit campaign for the Spain international, who has notched just six goals and three assists in 25 La Liga appearances.
Last summer, Williams was strongly linked with a move to Barcelona. In fact, it was widely reported in June that the Catalan side had agreed personal terms with the player.
However, the 23-year-old turned down the opportunity to join Lamine Yamal at the Camp Nou in favour of staying in Bilbao with his brother, Inaki.
He signed an eight-year contract extension with his boyhood club worth around €320,000 (£276k) per week, as per Capology.
“When it comes to making decisions, for me, the most important is to listen to your heart,” Williams said after renewing at the Estadio San Mamés. “I am where I want to be, with my people. This is my home. Aupa Athletic!”
Williams is expected to make Luis de la Fuente's World Cup squad, despite his form.
