Liverpool have re-emerged in the race to sign Newcastle United star Alexander Isak and a new report has revealed exactly how much they're ready to pay.
Just three weeks after lifting the 2024/25 Premier League title, Liverpool have already been busy in the transfer market, signing right-back Jeremie Frimpong as their replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Shortly after completing the signing of Frimpong, reports claimed that Liverpool had agreed a Premier League record deal for his former Bayer Leverkusen teammate Florian Wirtz, with Bournemouth's Milos Kerkez also expected to join the Reds.

But it appears that Liverpool will not stop there, as a new report has claimed that they are now exploring a deal for top transfer target Isak, who has attracted interest from several major clubs this summer.

Off the back of an incredible season for Newcastle United, Isak emerged as one of the most exciting strikers in the world, leading to links with Arsenal, Barcelona and several other massive clubs.
However, a report from GiveMeSport suggests that it is Liverpool who are the favourites to sign the Swedish international, and they are prepared to break the British transfer record for a second time this summer in order to do so.

The report claims that Liverpool view Isak, who scored 26 goals and assists six across 42 appearances in all competitions, as their dream signing and are willing to go all out to pursue him.
Following Newcastle securing qualification for the next season's Champions League, it is believed that Newcastle will demand a bid upwards of £150million if they are even to consider selling their star player.
Although this astronomical price tag would be off putting to many of the other clubs interested in Isak, it is believed that Liverpool are not ruling out such a large bid, if they feel that they can make a deal work.

In order to do so, Liverpool hope that they can secure a respectable transfer fee for out-of-form striker Darwin Nunez, who has been heavily linked with a move to Napoli, Atletico Madrid and several Saudi Pro League sides.
The Uruguayan is just one of several forwards that could leave Anfield this summer, with the likes of Harvey Elliott, Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota all potential outgoings.
Should any of these attackers be sold, then Liverpool will look to spend the money raised on a deal for Isak or, failing that, they will accelerate their pursuit of other strikers, including Joao Pedro, Hugo Ekitike and Julian Alvarez.
