Alexander Isak's injury is set to come at a staggering cost for Liverpool as he looks set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Isak, a record £125 million signing from Newcastle in the summer, scored his third goal for the Reds in the 2-1 win over Spurs on Saturday.
After struggling to get going at Anfield, the Swede will have been hoping to well and truly kickstart his career at Liverpool with the opener against nine-man Spurs.
However nightmare struck for the former Newcastle United man as not long after, he suffered a serious injury when challenged by Micky Van de Ven in the penalty area.

Having been brought on at half-time Isak was forced off not long after and replaced by Jeremie Frimpong.
The initial fears are not good for the Swede as according to a number of respected reporters and outlets, including David Ornstein and Sky Sports, scans are poised to confirm that Isak has suffered a broken leg.

That would leave the ex Real Sociedad man out for a period of around three months in a huge blow for Liverpool at a time when Mo Salah has headed to the Africa Cup of Nations while his future remains uncertain amid a fall-out.
Financially, Liverpool are also at a loss as their £300,000-a-week striker will be unable to contribute for around 12.9 weeks - amounting to around £3,870,000.
Isak has played 16 times in all competitions in the 2025/26 campaign, having arrived without a proper pre-season after he tried to force his move away from Newcastle.
On Monday night, Liverpool confirmed that Isak had undergone surgey on an ankle injury that included a fibula fracture.
A statement read: "Alexander Isak today successfully underwent surgery on the injury he sustained on Saturday. The Liverpool striker was injured in a challenge in the process of scoring the opening goal against Tottenham Hotspur and had to be substituted.
"After diagnosis, an operation was completed today on an ankle injury that included a fibula fracture. Isak's rehabilitation will now continue at the AXA Training Centre, with no timeframe yet placed on his return."
Which Liverpool games will Isak miss?
Isak was previously absent for fives games following a groin injury which kept him out from October to November but he could be out for a much longer period if MRI scans uncover the worst possible outcome.
And the fixtures are coming thick and fast for Liverpool, who are level on points with fourth-placed Chelsea after their win in North London.

Liverpool's next three games are against Wolves, Leeds and Fulham before they travel to leaders Arsenal in a big game at the start of 2026.
Arne Slot's men host Barnsley in the FA Cup third round before taking on Burnley.
Isak will also miss Champions League clashes with Marseille and Qarabag either side of a trip to Bournemouth.
He will also be absent for a game against former club Newcastle at Anfield, as well as the visit of Manchester City and back-to-back away games against Sunderland and Nottingham Forest.
Following meetings with West Ham and Wolves, he could be in line to return against Spurs at Anfield in the middle of March.
