Gary Neville could not hold back his frustration with Manchester United during the first half of their Premier League clash against Bournemouth, with Michael Carrick's side 2-0 down.
Neville was on commentary for Sky Sports during the first half at Old Trafford, with goals from Rayan and Marcus Tavernier putting the Cherries two goals to the good.
There was a gloomy atmosphere in Manchester - not just from Storm Boelo - and Neville chose the closing moments of the first half to unleash his fury at what he was watching on the pitch.

'Michael Carrick will carry the can...' - Gary Neville on Man Utd
“You can make out the boos. It can get moody very, very quickly in this second half," Neville said on Sky Sports, before making clear who is at fault for their current issues. "We’ll see signs of it at half-time, because they’re not going to accept this. The problems’ not really with Michael Carrick, but he’ll be the person carrying the can for it. The problem is with the players, the sporting department who are responsible for this.

"It’s a nightmare for Michael Carrick. It’s a nightmare for those two - Omar Berrada, the CEO, Jason Wilcox sat next to him. He’s [Berrada] shaking his head. This is Groundhog Day. The only chance United have is to turn it into a shoot out, make it into mayhem.”
Minutes earlier, Neville had highlighted United's lack of squad depth in having to select centre-back Leny Yoro at right-back, with the Frenchman's error leading to Bournemouth's second goal.
"We're just seeing Leny Yoro at full-back, it's awkward full stop anyway," he said.
"He did some really good work at the back post against Leeds, that's where you could see his value. But at Old Trafford, you've got to be confident on the ball, good one-on-one, you've got to look comfortable... he's just not a right-back, the lad. Sometimes you find yourself in positions you don't look comfortable in. Sometimes you slip, because of the greasy surface. That was my fear with Bournemouth, with this Manchester United, that they'd score again, because they smelled blood.
"The irony is Carrick may have to call on [Bruno] Fernandes to save him. It's not the position he would have liked to have found himself in. He had to drop the captain, because of his words after the Como defeat.

"This is a real mess now. They've never played well, Manchester United. I'm not saying they've played badly. There's nothing good, there's nothing bad. It's just a nothing."
Once the second half got underway, he added: "They [Bournemouth] are 2-0 up at Old Trafford, and to be fair, this could be the easiest game they've had. It's as simple as that. They're playing against a team who are very easy to play against, and they know what they're doing.
"They're an experienced team. They've been around the block, a few of them. They've had changes of managers, they've had changes of players, but they've got something. They're run well, they've got consistencies at the club, which mean they're able to pick up the baton. They've been fantastic today, and they deserve to be in front."
Neville's comment that best summed up the mood at Old Trafford, though, came when he said: "I've just seen Bournemouth warm up and there were very few shouts for him. And Lisandro Martinez comes on, very few claps for him either. Almost silent. Usually a player will get welcomed on to the pitch."
