Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has aimed a cheeky dig at Gary Neville amid the ongoing VAR saga.

This week, Klopp has been making headlines after he suggested Liverpool’s match against Tottenham Hotspur should be replayed after the VAR controversy surrounding Luis Diaz’s disallowed goal.

Former Manchester United defender Neville branded Klopp’s comments as ‘madness’.

Speaking ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League clash against Brighton and Hove Albion, Klopp couldn’t help but aim a cheeky dig at the Nevilles. You can watch the footage below.

Klopp was talking about the fact that Alexis Mac Allister played against his brother Kevin during Liverpool’s 2-0 win against Belgian side Union Saint Gilloise in the Europa League on Thursday night.

The Reds boss said: “They are doing 25 interviews in a row now together.

“It’s the first time that two brothers played against each other in world football or whatever it felt like, it’s a really nice story.”

Klopp was then reminded by a reporter that Gary and Phil Neville had already played against each other.

The German hilariously replied: “Well nobody was interested in that obviously. Sorry, that was a penalty I had to take that.”

After the match against Union Saint Gilloise, the Mac Allister brothers did a rare joint interview with TNT Sports.

Alexis said: “I've played against my older brother before but never against Kevin - it was special. My dad was here too, he knows what it means, he cried a little bit.”

Whilst Kevin added: “He was the reason I suffer today, but it was a very special moment. Of course, Liverpool, maybe in the last match, come to Belgium and we can get revenge maybe.”

The two brothers are set to face each other again when Liverpool travel to the away match against Union Saint Gilloise in December.
