Chris Eubank Jr's first reaction to Conor Benn's defeat vs Ryan Garcia instantly goes viral

Chris Eubank Jr has aimed a brutal dig at Conor Benn for cutting weight after he suffered a second-round defeat to Ryan Garcia.

Garcia, the reigning WBC lightweight champion, disposed of Benn in just under four and a half minutes, with the referee stepping in to wave off the fight.

Benn had come into the bout off the back of wins over Chris Eubank Jr and Regis Prograis since November, but that streak didn't continue in Nevada - and Eubank Jr made sure to rub it in some more.

The fight was ruled as a technical knockout (TKO) victory for Garcia, who kept hold of his WBC lightweight championship in what was his inaugural defence.

Both fighters made weight at the weigh-ins, with Benn topping the scales at 10st 6lb.

But the 29-year-old then revealed he had put on 32lbs inside the following 12 hours to weigh 12st 10lb.

He had told BBC that the weight cut had 'dragged down to the pits of hell' in preparation for the fight.

And Eubank Jr, naturally, aimed a brutal jab at Benn, given he needed to cut significant weight for both of his fights against his fellow Englishman alongside a 10lb rehydration clause.

"Welcome to the 'fighting after cutting too much weight' club..." he wrote on X (Twitter). "Enjoy."

Earlier in the day, Eubank Jr had left everyone in no doubt - if any was needed - about who he was supporting, as he posted a photo of himself posing with Garcia.

His weight cut for the first Benn fight, which he won by unanimous decision in April, had been extreme to the point that he was hauled in front of the British Boxing Board of Control over the alleged use of a sauna. Eubank Jr was fined £375,000 for narrowly missing the 160lb weight but was permitted to fight as he was under the 170lb rehydration limit.

Benn won their second fight in November by unanimous decision.

'He got paid an absolute fortune...' - Benn on Eubank Jr weight cut

In his pre-fight press conference before facing Garcia, Benn was asked if he had any sympathy for Eubank Jr now he had needed to go through a similar brutal weight cut. And his answer left no-one in any doubt.

"He got paid an absolute fortune," Benn replied. "He got paid a fortune. You've got to remember, the fight before mine [versus Kamil Szeremeta, for the vacant IBO middleweight title] was a run-out, in Saudi. At 160.

"You're talking to somebody [Eubank Jr] who's not made the weight for four and a half years. So he just had a run-out, at fractions of the money, at 160. Fought Liam Smith twice, at 160.

"He pushed that narrative well, but when you want to sit here and talk about someone who's not made the weight for four and a half years. Am I moaning? Do you see me posting for sympathy, or some sob story? No. Do you know what? I get on with it."
