New Arsenal Signing Spotted at Emirates Stadium During Liverpool Draw

Arsenal were held to a 0-0 draw by Liverpool at the Emirates on Thursday (January 8) as Mikel Arteta's side went six points clear.

A new signing was spotted inside the Emirates during Arsenal’s 0-0 draw against Liverpool, which saw the Gunners go six points clear of Manchester City at the Premier League summit.

Mikel Arteta’s side missed the opportunity to go eight points clear of Pep Guardiola’s City, who have drawn their last three matches – against Sunderland, Chelsea, and Brighton – and in doing so allowed Arsenal to go further ahead in their pursuit of a first Premier League title since 2003/04.

Liverpool, who are now unbeaten in 10 matches, limited Arsenal to just 34 percent possession in the second half and may have gotten more than one point from the game if they had their usual strikers, Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike, on the pitch.

The lack of attacking threat was apparent, looking at the stats, with Liverpool failing to register a single shot on target from seven attempts.

Milos Kerkez kept Bukayo Saka quiet, while Viktor Gyokeres was limited in his opportunities on a poor night for Arsenal.

The only real talking point to come from the game was when Gabriel Martinelli pushed Conor Bradley off the pitch while he was lying injured, holding his knee.

This provoked a furious reaction from the Liverpool players and Gary Neville on commentary, but the Brazilian has since apologised.

Meanwhile, some eagle-eyed Gunners fans spotted that a soon-to-be-Arsenal player was sitting near the Arsenal bench.

Sixteen-year-old Victor Ozhianvuna posted a photograph of the pitch to his Instagram story, which provoked a reaction from fans on social media.

The Irish forward is currently playing for League of Ireland side Shamrock Rovers but is set to join Arsenal when he turns 18, in January 2027.

The teenager reached an agreement to join Arsenal in October of 2025 and has already made history in his fledgling career, having become the second youngster player ever to feature in the UEFA Conference League when he came on in Rovers’ second-leg intermediate stage fixture against Molde.

Ozhianvuna has also represented the Republic of Ireland between Under-15 and Under-18 levels.

As per Brexit, English clubs are not allowed to sign players from countries in the European Union (EU) until they’ve reached the age of 18.

According to Football London, the teenager cost Arsenal in the region of £1.75 million with performance-related add-ons and a sell-on clause included in the agreement with Shamrock Rovers.
