AC Milan supporters staged an incredible protest against CEO Giorgio Furlani during the club's 3-2 home defeat to Atalanta over the weekend.
I Rossoneri sit fourth in the Serie A table after they watched fierce rivals Inter win the league title this season. Milan occupy the final Champions League place with two matches left of the regular season, but could yet drop two places and end up in the Conference League instead. They have won just one of their last seven league matches and have only managed to score in two of those fixtures.
Milan won the Serie A title back in 2022 but many supporters believe the club failed to capitalise on the opportunity they had due to poor investments and mismanagement. A lot of the frustration has been aimed at the RedBird ownership group and club CEO Furlani, who has been in that role since the end of 2022.
As well as the sporting failures and disappointment in the transfer window, many Milan fans believe there is a total disconnect between supporters and the club. With the Italian giants now a shadow of the elite side they used to be, fans used the weekend clash with Atalanta as an opportunity to protest against the hierarchy.

There were protests outside the stadium ahead of kick-off on Sunday, and they continued inside the ground before kick-off. Fans from the Curva Sud supporters group assembled inside the San Siro to spell 'G.F. OUT' in flashlights, in what was a clear message of anger to the board.
Supporters continued to chant in protest as the game went on, and with Milan 3-0 down in the second half, thousands of fans walked out in their latest display of anger. Max Allegri's side struck twice late on to salvage a more respectable scoreline, but the empty seats inside San Siro told all you needed to know about the mood at the club.

In their latest fanzine, the Curva Sud also published a statement asking for the resignation of Furlani. “Exactly four years ago we were celebrating one of the most wonderful Scudetto wins in Milan’s history, a tournament won by admiring all those elements of a team that was not the favourite: courage, grit, unity, desire, team spirit and the incredible support of the fans.
“It was an unforgettable example of Milan spirit. Now, four years later, what is left?
“That was a winning team that needed only a few quality, international additions to aim higher, but was completely dismantled by a totally incapable and incompetent group of directors, led by Giorgio Furlani, who stands on the rubble of HIS sporting failure.
“It is clear for all to see, other than those who have interest in keeping him there, namely the owners whose vision of Milan is purely financial and based on revenue, trampling shamefully over the history of this club and the ambitions its fans always had.”
