A presenter has opened up on the "unfortunate" mistake she made while speaking to captain Marco Friedl following this weekend's Bundesliga clash between Eintracht Frankfurt and Werder Bremen.
Katharina Kleinfeldt, who was working for Sky Sports Germany on Saturday, watched on from the Deutsche Bank Park touchline as Frankfurt recorded an emphatic 4-1 win over Bremen.
After the full-time whistle, Marco Friedl swapped shirts with former teammate Michael Zetterer, who only joined Frankfurt from Bremen this week in a deal worth around £4.3 million.
Wearing the Frankfurt kit, Friedl soon made his way over to the interview station to speak to Kleinfeldt, who was clearly a little confused by what was happening.

She began the interview by saying: "We want to talk a bit about Eintracht, of course. Let's first focus on the game. You won 4-1 today – is that the opening victory you were expecting?"

Friedl proceeded to awkwardly inform the presenter that he is, in fact, a Werder Bremen player, which prompted Kleinfelt to apologise on-air.
"Excuse me," she said, grabbing Friedl's shoulder. "I'm really just... Marco, sorry." Kleinfelt then shakes his hand, saying, "We saw each other beforehand... I'm actually just... This is my fault, sorry."

Speaking after the interview, Friedl opened up on the unfortunate incident.
"I've never experienced that before," he told German publication BILD. "I talked to her before the game. 90 minutes later, she doesn't recognise me anymore. That's strange and also a bit ridiculous."
Kleinfelt would also address her mistake after the interview, saying: "Before the game, I interviewed Marco Friedl on the bus. Unfortunately, the Eintracht jersey confused me for a moment after the final whistle, so I made this unfortunate mistake."
In a separate interview with DAZN, a frustrated Friedl was highly critical of Bremen's performance.

“There are very few straws to grasp at,” he said. “Not a lot has been going right either on or off the pitch in recent weeks. A lot is going awry because we have injuries and so forth. We got stuck in our own half and gifted them [Frankfurt] goals. There were numerous individual errors and we were punished mercilessly. We have to be honest, it’s going to be difficult if we don’t improve.
“I [still] want to take every single last positive thing [from today,] We’ve lost opening games before in recent years. We just have to pull ourselves out of it. We have to bring quality to the pitch, eliminate the mistakes, and simply be more dangerous up front."
He added: "We are where we are, and we have to find a way out of it.”
