Alex Scott is a pioneer for women’s football and a role model to young sportsmen and women everywhere.
Alex Scott is an ex-footballer and commentator from London, who mostly played as a right-back for Arsenal and the England women’s team.
Her footballing career began in 1992, at the age of eight, when she was signed on with Arsenal. She played with Arsenal until 2004, when she played a season at Birmingham City.
Scott did a stint in America playing for the newly established Women’s Professional Soccer league between 2009 and 2011. After this, she went on a season tour of Japan before returning to Arsenal.
Between 2002-2017, Scott also played in the England women’s international team and even competed at the 2012 London Olympics.
In 2017, she was made an MBE for her services to football.
Scott played her last game in May 2018 and pursued a career as a commentator and pundit thereafter. In 2019, she competed on Strictly Come Dancing.
Born on 14th October 1984 in London, Alex Scott turns 37-years-old on her birthday in 2021.
Alex Scott is believed to be single at the moment, but she keeps a tight lid on her personal life.
According to reports, Scott was previously linked to Corrie actor Sam Robertson, who plays Ken Barlow’s grandson Adam.
Scott was also, as is inevitable with any Strictly pairing, rumoured to be having a fling with her dance partner Neil Jones. The two denied any romance.
In 2020, she told Hello Magazine that she was “single, but it's not like I need to find someone." Scott appears to be far too busy with her career to think about settling down at the moment.
Alex Scott has been reported to be worth somewhere between £100,000 and £2 million in 2020-2021.
