Paris Fury Appears To Say There's 'No Chance' Tyson Fury Will Retire

Fury once again said Saturday's win over Dillian Whyte would be his last fight but his wife didn't appear to think that would be the case.

Tyson Fury wasn't backing down on his claims he would retire after the Dillian Whyte, once he'd knocked his challenger out in the sixth round, but wife Paris isn't so sure

Fury had said on a couple of occasions in the build up to the fight with Whyte that he would hang up his gloves following his first fight on British soil since 2018.

The WBC world heavyweight champion then landed a perfect uppercut in the sixth round of his title defence and left Whyte out cold on the canvas for a couple of moments.

After that there was no backing down from the undefeated heavyweight, who said, "I think this is it, this might be the final curtain for 'The Gypsy King'. What a way to go out," before singing his rendition of Don McLean's 'American Pie' to the crowd.

However, whilst he was giving his interview, Tyson's wife Paris appeared to mouth 'no chance' towards someone else, as you can see around the three minute mark of the post fight interview, potentially giving away the fact it won't happen.

Asked about whether he would be fighting again, the 33-year-old revealed that it was a conversation he had with his wife that is why he's is retiring.

"I promised my lovely wife, Paris, of 14 years, after the [Deontay] Wilder III fight that would be it and I meant it," he told BT Sport.

"I had a war, it was a great trilogy and I meant that but I got offered to fight at Wembley at home and I believed that I owed it to the fans, I owed it to every person in the United Kingdom to come here and fight at Wembley."

He then said in his post match press conference that money would not be enough to convince him out of retirement in the future.

Paris however did reveal that she thought her husband would come out of retirement, but only if there was a chance of unifying the division.

"I would like him to come out now. He has nothing more to prove," she told BT Sport.

"If he had anything left to do, I would say 'Yeah Tyson, you do it'. But he has nothing to prove.

"So unless he really wants to box on, and if he's just doing it for whatever money, fame, he doesn't need that. He's the most famous man on the planet tonight.

"For Tyson to keep boxing, it just seems for one reason and I know in my heart, I think the only reason that Tyson will come back is for the unification fight."

That would likely mean facing either WBA, IBF and WBO champion Oleksandr Usyk, or challenger Anthony Joshua, with the pair expected to meet for the second time in the summer.

Whichever of those two men Fury would have to fight to unify the titles, it would be the biggest fight in the sport in many years, with Lennox Lewis still the last undisputed champion of the heavyweight division.

Fury could also still face UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, with the mixed martial artist and the boxer meeting in the ring after the fight and confirming they expect to face off next year.
