Incredible Rey Mysterio detail spotted after WWE legend involved in Ryan Garcia's ring walk

WWE legend Rey Mysterio was part of Ryan Garcia's entourage for his ring walk ahead of fighting Conor Benn - and a small but significant detail was immediately picked up on by viewers.

Garcia was born in California but has Mexican descent through his grandparents, with Mexico's biggest wrestling star Mysterio part of the group that walked alongside him to the ring.

The WWE legend wore a white neck brace, which may have had some concerned about the 51-year-old's health - but there is a very good reason behind it.

As he heads towards the end of his in-ring career, Mysterio is no longer as active and combines his wrestling role as the general manager for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (or simply AAA), a promotion acquired by WWE in partnership with Fillip last April.

In December, Mysterio made his in-ring AAA debut by teaming with fellow masked wrestler Rey Fenix to defeat his real-life son Dominik Mysterio and El Grande Americano in a tag team match.

On Friday night, he was back in action again during the first night of Triplemania, AAA's flagship yearly event.

He took on the 7ft 3in giant Omos, who is now part of the promotion's roster after a lengthy spell off WWE television.

Omos, whose AAA career was on the line, defeated Mysterio inside 13 minutes - and one spot is the reason behind the use of Mysterio's neck brace.

After his victory, Omos picked up Mysterio - who was strapped to a stretcher board - and slammed him directly through one of the announce tables as part of a post-match beatdown. Mysterio was taken out of the arena on a stretcher.

The WWE legend follows the lucha libre tradition of never removing his mask, even outside of the ring, and will have taken the same approach after what happened against Omos.

Ryan Garcia dominates Conor Benn

In the boxing ring, Garcia managed to defeat Benn inside two rounds by technical knockout (TKO) in Nevada.

The 28-year-old, who was defending his WBC welterweight championship for the first time, knocked Benn down in the second round and trapped him by the ropes before the referee stepped in to halt the fight.

Benn posted a congratulatory message to Garcia after the fight, with the pair having embraced inside the ring. The Englishman was able to walk away from the ring but then was taken to hospital for treatment and checks.

"I think that it went exactly how I imagined it," Garcia said in his post-fight press conference. "He was going to decide to put pressure on me right now, kind of banking on the idea that I may just start folding somehow, and maybe get a little bit tired.

"But you can't jump in like that. It's not the move.

"He's exactly what I thought he was. He just needs to gain a little bit more experience. I don't think he has enough experience at this point. I think he will be back, and he went in, tried to fight me.

"Connor spoke some really kind words to me [after the fight]. I'm going to hold those very true to me. I think that he's an alright dude. I have a new level of respect for him, a fellow Christian brother, and I hope the best for him. I hope he can come back and do great things in this sport. He needs to be a little more patient, that's what I think."
