As David Haye stared romantically into Tony Bellew's eyes during this afternoon's highly anticipated weigh-in, famous boxing announcer Michael Buffer stood with a very noticeable grin on his face, and for good reason.

Mr Buffer is one of the most recognised faces in Boxing. His trademark "Let's get ready to rumble" catchphrase has earned him worldwide fame.

Not only is the 72-year-old respected by millions, but Buffer is earning a huge amount of money everytime he appears in the ring.

Since beginning his career as an announcer in 1982 after trying his hand at several other careers including acting and modeling, Buffer has earned hundreds of million from trademark licensing alone.

According to ABC news, in 2009 Michael Buffer had a net worth of over $400 million:

"By trademarking his catchphrase, Buffer has generated over $400 million in revenue, selling the rights to music, video games, merchandise and while making personal appearances.

"His business venture is so successful, Buffer doesn't even have to say his catchphrase to make money. He makes more from the trademark than he does announcing in the ring."

In fact, the legendary Buffer typically earns between $25,000 and $100,000 every time 'he utters those five famous words'. according to CelebrityNetWorth

It is also believed that he has earned $1,000,000 dollars for a number of fights.

Here's one of Buffer's greatest ring announcements at Starrcade 97. It has over 2.8 million views on YouTube
