Mike Tyson and Oleksandr Usyk disagree over who wins Tyson Fury v Anthony Joshua showdown

Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua is appearing on the boxing horizon. If the assessments of two heavyweight legends is any indication, it could be a thrillingly unpredictable encounter.

Fury and Joshua have both navigated their warm-up fights in advance of the £100million 'Battle of Britain', which is set to take place in November.

Joshua was sensationally floored by Kristian Prenga in Jeddah just seconds into their bout, which Tony Bellew described as 'absolute chaos' on DAZN.

Prenga knocked Joshua down a second time in the opening round but the former undisputed world heavyweight champion knocked out the Albanian in the second round at the Jeddah Superdome.

The English fighter was in action for the first time since December's clash with Jake Paul and the tragic loss of friends Sina Ghami and Latif 'Latz' Ayodele in a car crash in Nigeria that also left the boxing star with injuries.

Fury's fight was plain sailing. The Gypsy King beat 46-year-old Mariusz Wach in front of a small crowd and no live broadcast in Thailand. Wach's corner threw in the the towel after the seventh round.

Now, attention turns to the long-awaited clash of the British titans in the autumn.

Former heavyweight champions Mike Tyson and Oleskandr Usyk do not see eye to eye when it comes to picking a winner for the blockbuster bout.

"AJ will win," Usyk told talkSPORT at ringside during their broadcast in Jeddah. "[He will] knock him out."

Brooklyn powerhouse Tyson, meanwhile, is backing Fury to defeat the 36-year-old.

Speaking to Ring Magazine, Tyson forced himself off the fence.

"Oh man, I don't know," said Tyson.

"If Tyson [Fury] comes in right and avoids those punches it's going to be interesting because Joshua is a fast puncher. We'll see. We'll see.

"I love Tyson Fury though, I love Tyson Fury.

"I can't never go against him because [he's named after me] alone. That's why I never go against him. I don't care who it is."

Fury and Joshua are slated to meet in the ring for the first time later this year and Usyk speaks with direct experience of what the 37-year-old is all about.

The Ukrainian fighter is the only opponent to beat Fury and did so twice in back-to-back title fights in Riyadh in 2024, adding the WBC heavyweight title to his collection and defending the WBA, WBO and IBO titles he still holds as an undefeated champion.

After sitting out in 2025, Fury won both of his first two 2026 matches, beating Arslanbek Makhmudov and Wach as he works his way back to top condition for one of the biggest nights of his boxing career.

Fury is a previous holder of the WBA, WBC, WBO and IBO belts and promises to be a formidable test for Joshua, a former WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight champ in his own right.

Joshua has a 30-4 professional record but has also lost consecutive multi-title fights to Usyk.
