WWE moved to issue an immediate suspension after a chaotic end to the Smackdown broadcast on Friday night.
WWE champion Cody Rhodes squared off against Aleister Black in a non-title match for the main event which was put on by general manager Nick Aldis after the interaction between the pair at the start of the show.
However, before a winner could be determining during the bout, an enraged Drew McIntyre appeared and interfered in devastating fashion.
With both men on the canvas after kicks in stereo, the Scot laid out referee Dan Engler with a brutal Claymore Kick that nearly took his head off - leading to an automatic no-contest.
McIntyre, still not willing to give up on his pursuit of Rhodes and his WWE title despite two defeats, brawled with the American Nightmare.

Black then got involved to make it a two-on-one assault before Damian Priest returning to even the odds and the four men continued to fight.

After McIntyre exited the ring, GM Aldis, having had enough of his actions in recent weeks, appeared on the ramp with a microphone to announce that a suspension had been imposed.
"You know what Drew? I’ve had it with you," he fumed.
"I give you an inch and you take a mile. Well, no more. Effective immediately, Drew McIntyre, You..Are…SUSPENDED!”
Incensed and feeling as though he is being unfairly treated, McIntyre hit back and said, "They brought this on themselves, it's everyone against me!"
As shown in a video posted by WWE, McIntyre was later escorted out of the building by security and WWE agents but continued to engage in a x-rated tirade with Aldis, who told him to "Shut the f*** up!".
McIntyre has a knack for regularly posting on social media and has even done so far in the middle of the match. But he is yet to respond to his storyline suspension at the time of writing.
McIntyre wants Cena showdown despite suspension
The first British WWE champion recently told SPORTbible about his desperation to mix it up with John Cena before his retires at the end of the year.
Next week a 16-man tournament will begin, with the winner receiving the honour of being Cena's very last opponent in Washington, D.C, on December 13 at Saturday Night's Main Event.
"He is the absolute GOAT on the microphone when it comes to shredding people," McIntyre next.
"He’s not just good at coming up with material prior, getting out there, he’s so quick on his feet.
“I always said that I wanted to test myself against the best on the mic. People would say, ‘Drew, big guy, good wrestler, but maybe he could do with being a better talker’. And I was like, ‘What? Have you seen my indie stuff?’
“Finally, when I got with Punk … I proceeded to shred him completely. And then I continued that for like, a year. And then that’s when people truly saw what I was capable of.
“I wanted to show that against someone like Punk, who is known as one of the best talkers of all time. I believe Cena genuinely is, and he’s so quick on his feet.
“I’d love that opportunity to tear him to pieces, then get him in the ring and send him right back to Hollywood - where he’s doing a fantastic job.”
