A WWE social media admin may have inadvertently 'ruined' AJ Lee's huge return after a 10 year absence with a deleted post on X.
April Mendez, who is best known by her ring name AJ Lee, is widely regarded as one of the most popular female wrestlers in WWE history. She began her professional wrestling career in 2007, before signing a contract with WWE in 2009.
After two years in Florida Championship Wrestling, which serves as the development for WWE, Lee was promoted to the main roster. She made her television debut in May 2011 on an episode of SmackDown, before she quicky rose to prominence thanks to her intriguing personality and in-ring ability.
Lee quickly became one of the most popular divas in WWE, with her character involved in high-profile storylines, including romances with both Daniel Bryan and CM Punk.

In 2012, she also had a three-month spell as the Raw General Manager, which further highlighted her popularity within wrestling.
Over her WWE career, she won the WWE Divas Championship three times, with her longest reign lasting a record-breaking 295 days. In 2015, WWE announced her retirement from in-ring competition, but it turns out that may not be her final appearance in wrestling.
Now Lee appears set for a dramatic return to the sport, with reports emerging on Tuesday night that she is due to return imminently. However, WWE's official admin on X may have accidentally ruined the surprise.
What did the WWE admin post?
The potential error by the WWE admin came about on X, when one fan enquired about Lee's potential wrestling return.

Rather than ignore the message, the official WWE shop account replied.

They said: "Hey there! Of course, we wouldn't expect that.
"With AJ Lee's return to the ring, we are looking to have some [fire] gear hopefully in time for Wrestlepalooza.
"Be sure you're signed up for emails and get the latest updates on new live inventory. Happy shopping."

The post, which appeared to confirm that Lee was set to make a return to wrestling was deleted almost immediately. But it was not taken down quickly enough, as some keen fans had already seen the update, sparking excitement on social media.
Whether the admin's post was on purpose or accidental, it appears that wrestling fans will not have to wait long to see Lee's return.
