Logan Paul wants to fight John Cena at WrestleMania just SIX months after horror knee injury

Logan Paul wants to fight John Cena at WrestleMania just SIX months after horror knee injury

Despite tearing his MCL in arguably one of the toughest injuries an athlete can sustain, Paul still has his sights set on WrestleMania.

Despite tearing his MCL in arguably one of the toughest injuries an athlete can sustain, Logan Paul still has his sights set on competing at WrestleMania.

And there's a man by the name of John Cena who he's eager to make his return against.

With the WWE's showcase event taking place in April, that means it'll be exactly six months since Paul sustained the horror knee injury.

And yes, you'd be right in thinking that torn MCLs usually keep sports stars out of action for between nine and 12 months.

If, and it's a big if, Paul gets in the ring at WrestleMania then huge props to him.

Respect.

In just his third in-ring bout, the YouTuber-turned-boxer-turned-WWE superstar fought Roman Reigns for the belt, but came up agonisingly short when he suffered a knee injury.

At first, it was a suspected ACL tear, but it was later revealed that the meniscus and MCL were damaged and Paul required surgery to fix them.

Incredibly, though, he is already back in the gym training after going under the knife and he now plans on making a comeback at WrestleMania 39 in Hollywood.

Speaking on his IMPAULSIVE podcast, Paul said: “After the Crown Jewel event, John Cena posted about me on his Instagram. And then I saw an article saying he’s looking for an opponent at WrestleMania. I favorited it, responded with ‘the eyes.’ I mean, truthfully, I think me vs. John Cena would break the internet. I texted Triple H right away, ‘do you want to break the internet again?’ That’s a dream matchup, dude: at WrestleMania, in LA, on my birthday. Triple H, throw me a bone, give me a birthday present, let me take out John Cena. And that’d be crazy.

“I think that’s the model I’m going to pitch to WWE, to give you an insight into what our meetings look like. This week, we’re meeting with them, I’m just going to be like, ‘Hey, this works for me. Put me up against the best y’all have, I’m gonna f****** deliver. You know that for a fact. Not only to put on an amazing match, but I’m going to put asses in seats and eyeballs glued to the television.”

WrestleMania 39 kicks off on the opening weekend of April at Los Angeles' SoFi Stadium.
