John Cena ‘Accidentally Leaks’ Second Huge WWE Retirement Coming Soon

John Cena retires on Saturday night but he appeared to leak that a second WWE star will soon call time on their career.

John Cena appears to have accidentally leaked a fellow star's retirement from WWE ahead of his final match on Saturday.

17-time world champion Cena takes on Gunther in his last ever match at Saturday Night's Main Event in Washington, D.C after the Austrian won a tournament to earn the opportunity to retire arguably the greatest of all time.

Now a huge star in Hollywood, Cena embarked on a special retirement tour at the start of 2025 and is approaching his very final date.

He made history by adding another world title to his collection at WrestleMania after a shock heel turn - before going on to become a Grand Slam champion when he captured the Intercontinental Championship.

Cena's 36th and final date will see him get an emotional send-off as he finally hangs up the jorts after a decorated career spanning more than two decades.

But in promoting his last bout, Cena may well have spoiled another upcoming wrestling retirement.

In one of his many encounters, Cena was destroyed by a returning Brock Lesnar at the Wrestlepalooza event after the Beast Incarnate attacked him at SummerSlam.

Lesnar was absent from WWE programming for around two years having been named in the Vince McMahon lawsuit before making a comeback.

While he had a history with Cena, their match-up was seen as random by fans as it had no pay-off. However, in a new interview with Chris van Vliet, he explained why the match happened.

But in doing so, Cena let slip that Lesnar may soon be retiring in his hometown of Minnesota next year.

"You have to figure out who gets the shine that night," Cena said on losing to Lesnar.

"And if in his return, again only my perspective, this attraction we are going to build until he goes into the sunset - which I think is Minnesota - creatively it's very soon - to create a mountain for someone to climb you have to build them out.

"And I'm on my way out. It's not like it's going to hurt me but I'm a viable commodity and it's a great main event - to see this two titans for the last time."

Cena bags new deal

Although many other wrestlers have come out of retirement, Cena is adamant that he will no longer wrestle again after Saturday 13 December as he believes he cannot keep up with today's WWE product.

However, he will still have an important involvement in the business he cares so passionately about after revealing he has penned a new five-year contract to work as an ambassador.

“I will be an ambassador to WWE," Cena told WWE's YouTube channel.

"I am already signed on for another five years. I would like to be in this family as an employee and as a contributing part for as long as I can.

"I can’t match up with the product now, and that’s okay because what I do isn’t who I am. I’m looking forward to the second mountain of being an ambassador because maybe ambassadorship comes with letting more people know to watch (WWE), which was my goal in the first place".
