Manchester City breached a Premier League rule for not allowing Enzo Maresca to speak to radio stations immediately after their 3-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield.
In their first match since being found guilty on all charges of financial rule breaks by an independent commission, the Cityzens blocked out the noise by securing a convincing three-goal triumph against Liverpool.
Erling Haaland broke the deadlock minutes after Ryan Gravenberch was controversially sent off, and then two sublime goals from Jeremy Doku and Rayan Cherki ensured that City continued their 100 per cent record.

Man City breach Premier League rule after blocking Enzo Maresca interview
Man City return to Champions League action with an eye-watering showdown against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday (October 14), but ahead of the clash, it was revealed that the club allegedly violated Rule K.207 of the Premier League handbook by blocking Maresca from speaking to talkSPORT and BBC Radio 5 Live.

The rule states: "Each Club participating in a League Match must ensure that each Radio Broadcaster that has the right to the Radio Transmission of that League Match is permitted to interview (a) at least one Player who featured prominently in the League Match and (b) the Manager, following the League Match."
City did not explain this decision, but the Italian tactician did speak to television broadcaster Sky Sports, as well as the rest of the media during his post-match press conference.
Maresca's interview unsurprisingly centred on the ongoing investigation after Man City submitted their appeal against the guilty verdict on October 1, with their five-day appeal being heard by a new three-person panel by mid-December.
"I said many times, I am completely calm and relaxed. I promise you that I stress a lot about game plan and how we train," the Cityzens boss told Sky Sports post-match.
"I don't stress about things I don't control. The message with players will be the same. As I said, we know how serious the situation is. It is not something we can do something [about]. Where we can do something is inside the pitch.
"The noise around the team is a big noise, but we need to try to deal with that and try and make our noise, to win games."

What Man City players did after guilty verdict
City breached serious financial rules by arranging 'sham' contracts and reduced costs by a reported £900million over nine years between 2009 and 2018, when they won three Premier League titles.
A suspension from playing in the league, points deductions, the replaying of matches, expulsion from the league, being ordered to pay compensation to other clubs, automatic relegation, and even their titles being stripped are all punishments that are currently on the table.
Man City have maintained their innocence throughout, claiming they have a body of 'irrefutable' evidence and, when asked about the squad's reaction to the guilty verdict, Ruben Dias said: "When it broke, we obviously felt like we should have a conversation as soon as we got back.
"We did so just for everyone to be on the same page and to be clear about our peace of mind, and we moved on from there. Obviously, it happened in a moment where we were not together, but quickly we reached out to each other, and quickly as well, we found calm, and we progressed forward."
