Covington was transported to a nearby hospital following his UFC 245 defeat and the fighter has been slapped with a six-month medical suspension.
Medical report - Must have nondisplaced midline mandibular fracture cleared by oral and maxillofacial surgeon or no contest until 6/12/20. Minimum suspension until 2/13/20, no contact until 1/29/20.
Covington's former friend and teammate Jorge Masvidal doubts he'll fight again.
"I don't think he comes back," the BMF champion said. "Twenty-four minutes of beating his ass, and then put him out. And that's that."
Masvidal also threatened to break Usman's face and said he's "not skilled" enough for him.
"When I fight Usman, I'm going to break his face," he said. "He can't hang with me, he's too one-dimensional, he's not skilled and he sure as hell ain't tough."
UFC president Dana White is hoping to book a title clash between Usman and Masvidal and called a potential bout "massive".
"It's massive," he said. "The Masvidal fight now versus Usman is a big deal."
Usman's riding a 10-fight UFC win streak while Masvidal's on a three-fight tear which includes victories over Darren Till, Ben Askren and Nate Diaz.
