Dana White has made another brutal cut as an undefeated 16-0 fighter has been cut from the UFC in a shock move.
There's just 10 weeks left of the year and the UFC is ramping up for some of its biggest events of 2026, with the likes of Alexander Volkanovski, Ciryl Gane and Alex Pereira all in action.
But it appears that it's not just the upcoming events that the UFC has been focusing on lately, as a new round of cuts has led to undefeated bantamweight and featherweight fighter Farid Basharat being removed from the UFC roster.

UFC fans outraged as Dana White cuts Farid Basharat in brutal decision

In the UFC, the Afghan fighter boasts a 7-0 record, with notable wins over Jean Matsumoto, Chris Gutierrez, and Taylor Lapilus after earning his contract on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2022.
Basharat is currently ranked as no.9 in the UFC’s official list at bantamweight, but several reports have claimed that the organisation has decided not to offer him a new deal.
Brutally, the news comes not long after his older brother, Javid Basharat, was cut by the UFC also the back of a win over Gianni Vazquez in February.
Thankfully, Javid has been able to continue his career in the PFL, winning his debut against Movsar Ibragimov in August.
It therefore stands to reason that Farid could have a future in the PFL, should he decide that is the next stop he wants to take.

Why did the UFC cut Farid Basharat and how have fans reacted?
It's safe to say that fans are very surprised by the UFC's decision to cut Basharat largely because of his unblemished record and impressive run into the bantamweight rankings.
Add to this the fact that he's proven to be a company man in recent bouts having accepted short notice opponents, and the UFC's decision seems particularly ruthless.
However, the most likely reason for them deciding not to offer Basharat a new deal is because six of his seven wins in the UFC came via decision.
Across his whole career, Basharat has just one knockout finish, with six submissions.
In recent months, the UFC have made it clear that, regardless of wins, it doesn't want to have fighters that are deemed to be 'boring' in the eyes of fans that only want to see dramatic finishes, leading to the recent cutting of England's Michael 'Venom' Page.
But, despite his lack of finishes, it seems harsh to call Basharat a boring fighter, given his high work rate and willingness to go to war with his opponent.
And it appears that fans agree, as they took to social media to question the UFC's decision.
Posting on X, one fan wrote: "Bro what? Farid Basharat, Mokaev, Rinat Fakhretdinov, and MANY more cut while being UNDEFEATED?
"Absolute Insanity. 7-0 in the UFC and accepted short notice opponents and still cut from the UFC. Genuinely disappointing."
While another added: "This is absolutely disgraceful man. Farid Basharat is a very skilled fighter. You don’t go 7-0 in the UFC without being dang good. He’s a top 15 guy in the division in my opinion for sure.
"It’s also insane bc his fights were high paced and fun to watch."
Basharat is yet to comment on the news himself.
