SPORTbible recently sat down with Tyron Woodley to discuss the UFCās pay controversy. In September, another fighter, Bobby āKingā Green, claimed he is currently homeless.
The online casino company released a scan of the letter on X (formerly Twitter) with an accompanying video of Gamdom founder Romer signing it.
āWe want to contribute directly by providing additional income to support their training, their facilities, and their futures,ā the statement continued. āGamdom is offering every athlete on the UFC roster [this] sponsorship deal⦠$10,000 per month, per fighter.
āThis offer extends to the entire roster. Our offer is straightforward: $10,000 each month to each fighter who joins Gamdom through this initiative. We welcome conversations with fighters and their representatives across the roster,ā it concluded.
At the time of writing, Gamdomās tweet has accumulated 1.1 million views, and attracted multiple UFC fighters to its comment section.
The contents of the letter included comments from Romer, who wrote: āI understand the economics of the UFC, and respect the investment, risk and work involved in building the organisation into what it is today.
āI want to be absolutely clear: this initiative is in no way an attack on the UFC, or a negative reflection on its business. I have enormous respect for the platform it has created, and the opportunities it provides.ā
Roster Watch estimates there to be around 700 active UFC fighters, meaning that, if each of them was to accept Gamdomās offer, the company would shell out $7 million each month, and $84 million annually.
