Michael 'Venom' Page has explained why he rejected an offer from Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), the company co-founded by Jake Paul before signing for KSI's Misfits.
Page spent almost three years with the UFC, joining in December 2023 and winning five of his six fights at welterweight and middleweight before Dana White confirmed he would not be re-signing him at the start of September.
The 39-year-old bowed out of the company with a victory via unanimous decision against Nursultan Ruziboev in his final fight at UFC Paris and has since directed some stern words towards White after being released.

Michael Page explains why he chose Misfits over MVP
Reflecting on his time in the promotion, Page - whose only UFC defeat came against Ian Machado Garry - felt that White was "never really a fan of him in the beginning".

"I feel like Dana White's never really been a fan of me from the beginning, or I think it came from somebody else," Page told ESPN.
"And because I also didn't deliver it in the way he wanted me to deliver, I get he didn't care. You can kind of tell from the announcement; he didn't really make anything of it. He just announced me on the card as if I've always been a fighter there and people were kind of like, 'Wait, what?"
Misfits Boxing, the company co-owned by influencer KSI, have since announced the signing of Page, with the veteran sealing "multi-fight, multi-year agreement" and will make his debut "very soon".
"I've been in combat sports for a long time, and I've had plenty of options, but MF Sports is the right fit for me," Page said in a statement released on Saturday (October 10).
"They're doing things differently, the energy is huge, and the fights are big. I'm excited for this new chapter, and I'm coming to show the boxing world what I can do."
Page also confirmed that before sealing a big-money agreement with Misfits, he considered a move to Jake Paul's MVP after they merged with MMA's Professional Fighters League (PFL) in July.
"Obviously that [MVP] was probably one of the things at the top of the list," the London-born fighter continued.
"But they just weren't in the right place right now. It wasn't the right timing more than anything. It wasn't just a financial thing, but it wasn't the right timing for them.

Who Michael Page could fight in Misfits
Page also put his relationship with KSI, who worked with at Shoefighters gym in London, as the reason why he was so keen to join Misfits.
The money they've offered him in his contract is equally "amazing", in the former UFC star's words, and they were the two driving factors behind his decision.
Naturally, everyone who watches Misfits will be asking, 'Who will Page fight first?', and it appears he already has a few names in mind.
Page namedropped Tommy Fury and the legendary fighting brothers, Nate and Nick Diaz, when asked about future potential opponents.
Interestingly, he is said to be open to both boxing and MMA for his next fight, with Misfits hosting events in both sports.
