UFC president Dana White has confirmed that UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya will next fight Paulo Costa and the fight could happen in August of this year.

The UFC is one of the few sports that has kept going throughout the Coronavirus pandemic. With Tony Ferguson being dominated by Justin Gaethje at UFC 249, Dana White wants an Adesanya title defence to be next on the cards.

In an interview with media before UFC on ESPN 11, White promised an 'awesome' August fight schedule and admitted the 185lbs-division was getting a huge title fight.

"August is insane and then you know how that usually works out as we end the year going into the fall. There's always killer fights going into the fall, too...So, I mean with all the madness that's going on in this world right now. This thing is good right now. Everything is so good right now in the UFC world."

When asked about a probable Adesanya vs Costa fight, White responded,

"Oh yeah! That fight's happening."

Adesanya defeated Yoel Romero back in March, largely due to the fact Costa was ruled out due to a bicep injury. It will be the first time two undefeated fighters have ever fought for a UFC title in history.

Costa has called out Adesanya on Twitter over the past few days, saying the current champion sis running from him.
