Liam Martin and Cameron Munster “not liking each other” ahead of NRL Grand Final

Liam Martin learned of some surprising words from his Kangaroos teammate Cameron Munster, who revealed that the pair “didn’t like each other” as the NRL Grand Final approaches.

Munster addressed the media ahead of the Storm’s Preliminary Final two weeks ago, saying he thought that Martin would want to “take his head off” in the Grand Final.

“Liam is Liam. It’s funny looking back on it, we probably didn’t like each other in Aussie camps,” Munster said.

‘We get along pretty well at the moment, but I’m sure it would be a little bit different on Sunday. I’m looking forward to the battle.”

When the Panthers enforcer learned of this, he admitted to feeling a bit shocked by the insight he gave to the media.

“I was actually surprised by that,” Martin said on Munster’s comments.

“I thought we were fine, but if he feels like that then that’s his problem. It won’t change anything on Sunday. I’ll play the exact same.

“I don’t remember any issues during camp. I think I beat him in poker and thought we were fine, but obviously that’s not the case.”

This mini rivalry could add a little bit of extra sting as the Grand Final approaches.

The Panthers will look to win their fourth consecutive Premiership, while the Storm will look to best the side they bested the last time they won the Premiership.
