LeBron James' agent has addressed rumours surrounding the NBA icon's next destination after leaving the LA Lakers.
James opted not to re-sign at the end of the 2025-2026 season, citing his desire to win a fifth NBA championship ring as the main motivator.
The Lakers are currently building for the future and they haven't won the championship since 2020. James is aware of this, and at the age of 41, is prepared to seek pastures new.
Several teams in the NBA are in line to secure James' signature. The Golden State Warriors, Philadelphia 76ers and the Boston Celtics are among those interested.

On Thursday, American broadcaster Bill Simmons sent the rumour mill into overdrive after claiming James had agreed to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers for a third spell.
A Cleveland native, he was the first-round draft pick in 2003 and, in seven years, showcased why he was on his way to becoming one of the greatest of all time before joining the Miami Heat.
He made an emotional return to the Cavs in 2014, helping them win their first NBA Championship in 2016 and the city of Cleveland's first major sporting title since 1964. He departed for the Lakers in 2018.

Rich Paul offers update on LeBron James' next destination
Naturally, it was the first topic when Rich Paul, CEO of Klutch Sports Group and James' agent, sat down with Max Kellerman on the latest edition of the Game Over Podcast.
When asked about an update by Kellerman, Paul replied: "There is none. I wish I knew. He's taking his time, man, evaluating things. I've left him alone. Play golf, do the things you need to do. He understands where things are. When he’s ready, he’ll let me know.”
Kellerman then told Paul that Richard Jefferson, a retired NBA player, recently suggested James had told him the 'whole plan' as he enters the twilight of his career.
Paul couldn't contain his laughter, leaning back in his chair before declaring: "Let me tell you something. If you know me, and RJ knows me, I spent a lot of time with these guys in Cleveland. I love RJ. He's so funny. But the way he said it, and just coming off the trip, how could you not believe him? I really thought it was hilarious when I saw that."
James isn't rushing into a decision, likely knowing this will be the final contract of a two-decade-long career. He has plenty of time to communicate his decision, with the NBA season not scheduled to return until October.
