Liverpool are reportedly lining up another big-money move ahead of the January transfer window.

This summer, the Reds spent a significant amount of money as they signed players such as Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, Giovanni Leoni, Armin Pecsi, and Freddie Woodman.

However, the Reds did miss out on a deadline day deal to bring in Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, after the Eagles pulled the plug on the transfer in the 11th hour.

All in, Liverpool spent over €450 million despite already having a squad strong enough to win the 24/25 Premier League title.

Looking ahead, it has been claimed that Arne Slot has set his sights on another new signing, and it could happen in the winter transfer window.

According to a report by DAVE OCKOP, Liverpool hold a serious interest in Palace star Adam Wharton.

It has been suggested that despite interest from other clubs, Wharton prefers a move to Anfield.

The report stated that Spanish giants Real Madrid are also keeping a close eye on the midfielder and any transfer is expected to be in excess of £60 million.

In addition, it has been claimed that Wharton could make a move to Liverpool in January, but that depends on how the Premier League champions approach the window.

Wharton, 21, has impressed since joining Palace from Blackburn Rovers back in 2024.

After a string of brilliant outings for Palace, Wharton made his England debut in June 2024 before being included in Gareth Southgate's Three Lions squad for Euro 2024 in Germany.

So far, the youngster has made a total of 49 appearances for the Selhurst Park club.

Speaking about Liverpool's spending this week, Slot said: "I think this is the model we use at this club. That the ownership uses at this club and we have to give them, not only them but Richard, Michael, all the ones that were involved in this window such a compliment because we have traded so many players.

"We have created our own budget by selling players, by winning the league and as a result of that we have brought in so many players that are younger than the ones we sold so we are maybe even future proofed and still everybody is talking about only the ones we brought in so that is biggest compliment you can get."
