Marc Guehi Makes Decision After Liverpool Deal Collapses as New Club Enters Race

Marc Guehi saw a move to Liverpool collapse on transfer deadline day.

Marc Guehi has reportedly made a decision on his Crystal Palace future after a deadline day move to Liverpool fell through.

On Monday, reigning Premier League champions Liverpool were heavily involved in one of the most hectic transfer deadline days in recent memory.

After breaking the British transfer record to bring in Alexander Isak from Newcastle United for a reported fee of £125 million, the Reds were not done yet.

Arne Slot wanted to add another defender to this squad, with Guehi picked out as the primary target.

Liverpool went on to agree a fee of £35 million with Palace and the centre-back was given permission to undergo a medical.

However, in the 11th hour, Palace pulled the plug on the deal after failing to bring in a suitable replacement.

It has since been reported that Guehi has been left 'unhappy' over Palace's decision to stop his move to Liverpool.

Now, according to talkSPORT, Guehi has made it clear that he will not sign a new deal at Palace, meaning he will walk away from Selhurst Park for free when the 25/26 season comes to a close.

While Liverpool are expected to be in the mix for the 25-year-old's signature, they are set to face some strong competition.

It has been suggested that German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are 'among the clubs interested in signing Marc Guehi at the end of the season'.

Taking to social media, talkSPORT stated: "Bayern Munich are among the clubs interested in signing Marc Guehi at the end of the season, talkSPORT understands.

"The Eagles skipper will be available as a free agent when his Selhurst Park contract expires next summer having made it clear he will not sign a new deal."

Guehi has played an integral role so far this season under Oliver Glasner and scored a brilliant goal during Palace's 3-0 win over Aston Villa in the Premier League.

What did Oliver Glasner say about Marc Guehi?

Speaking after the match, Glasner was adamant Palace had to keep hold of thier captain.

The Austrian said: "I told the chairman we have to keep Marc if we want to play a successful season. We have no chance to find the right replacement in one day. We all agreed that we just sell Marc if we have the right replacement in the building.

"We wanted a replacement by 1 July. It is 31 August and we have no replacement. We have this agreement so it is clear from me. He is such a crucial player. He is one of our key players - he is our captain."

Guehi is currently on international duty with England, Thomas Tuchel's side will be taking on Andorra and Serbia over the next seven days.
