A shock update on the future of Harry Kane has emerged mere days before England's first game at the World Cup.
The Three Lions captain and talisman is gearing up for England's opening fixture against Croatia on Wednesday, looking to add to his 79 goals for his country.
Kane comes into the tournament in the form of his life after notching a staggering 61 goals in all competitions for Bayern Munich as they won the Bundesliga and the DFB Pokal.
The incredible form from the 32-year-old has put him well in contention to win the Ballon d'Or for the first time.

However, Kane's future in Bavaria has been called into doubt after a fresh report from Kicker said that there are "differences regarding the conditions and the term of the new contract" at Bayern.
Kane's deal at the Allianz Arena runs until 2027 and Kicker states that it is "not out of the question that lucrative offers will arrive" during or after the World Cup.
Barcelona and Manchester United are among those closely monitoring Kane's situation, eagerly waiting any developments which could see them swoop.

Kane did have a release clause in his contract which was worth €65 million. However, it expired at the end of January and Kane was required to activate it himself.
He decided against doing so, meaning Bayern hold all the cards even if Kane does want to leave Bayern.

Speaking back in December, Bayern honorary president Uli Hoeness expressed optimism that Kane would continue playing for the German giants.
He said: "We assume that he will definitely fulfil his contract until 2027. And if it were up to us – and I've heard it's up to him too – then he'll extend it.
His family is very happy. In Munich, you can still go about your business in peace.
"Harry Kane only ever worked with bodyguards back home (in London). I don't necessarily need that kind of life."
In November, Kane said moving to Bayern was "one of the best decisions of my life" and that he is "open to staying longer".
He then stated that he and the club would "have discussions about a possible new contract in the coming months".
After joining Bayern from Spurs for a fee of £82 million in 2023, Kane has bagged an incredible 146 goals in 147 appearances and cemented his place as one of the best strikers in recent history.
