An update on Harry Kane's situation has been delivered by a Bayern Munich insider amid speculation about the England captain's future.
Kane signed for the Bundesliga giants in a £86 million switch from Spurs in 2023 and has an exceptional tally of 91 goals in 100 games.
But while he is happy at Bayern, having ended his trophy drought with a title win last season and being a key part of a side who have the Champions League on the radar, Kane continues to be linked with a move away.
Spanish outlet Fichajes reported that Kane, despite being contracted until 2027, he has told Barcelona he intends to leave Bayern and join them in a Robert Lewandowski-style transfer.

Yet rumours about a sensational return to the Premier League continue to swirl.
There is still the feeling that Kane, already England's record goalscorer, has unfinished business in the English top flight - where he is just 47 goals behind all-time top scorer Alan Shearer.
On his website, journalist Christian Falk did a comprehensive overview of Bayern's transfer window and gave some insight into Kane's position.

"Nobody knows what 2026 holds for Harry Kane," he wrote.
"Will he make the step back to the Premier League to chase the goalscoring record? He’s only 47 away from matching Alan Shearer. If Bayern were to have a successful season and win the Champions League this year, you could see how Kane might say, “I have achieved everything in Munich”, and then go back to England. Nicolas Jackson, as we know, was on the list but was not initially the number one target; he climbed the list as the weeks went by."
The comments come after German football expert Raphael Honigstein said Bayern are "braced for the possibility that he will leave slightly earlier than his contract".
Bayern have added an extra striker option in bringing in Jackson from Chelsea for a reported loan fee of €16.5 million, though Uli Hoeness denied that was the case in an interview where he made a series of claims about the deal.

The Bayern chief said that Jackson and his agent are contributing €3 million while also confirming that there will "definitely" be no permanent deal as Jackson would need to start 40 games for the Bavarians.
However, Falk believes that Jackson still has the opportunity to impress and secure a permanent transfer at the Allianz Arena.
"If he’s doing well in the matches, he’ll get his chance to prove he’s the kind of player who has a future at Bayern Munich," Falk explained.

"Bayern need a solution for the future anyway, as Kane’s unlikely to keep going for the next five or so years. Jackson has quality, and now he’s in a position to show it. Still, it hasn’t become an easier task for him since Hoeness' public statement."
Bayern return to action on Saturday with a evening visit of Hamburg in the Bundesliga.
