Bayern Munich Made ‘Insulting’ Transfer Offer That Was Completely Ignored

Bayern Munich submitted the offer on transfer deadline day but did not receive a response from the club.

Bayern Munich failed with a deadline day transfer bid which did not even receive a response, it has emerged.

After regaining their Bundesliga crown from Bayer Leverkusen, the Bavarian giants brought in a total of four new arrivals - including Luis Diaz, Jonathan Tah and Nicolas Jackson, who joined on loan with an obligation to buy.

Jackson's move was very nearly scuppered at the last hurdle when Chelsea's Liam Delap picked up an injury and the club wanted him to return.

However his deal, which includes a five-year contract a €16.5m loan fee, went ahead and sees him provide cover for Harry Kane.

However, Bayern were unsuccessful in bringing in another attacker following the departures of Leroy Sane, Thomas Muller and Kingsley Coleman.

It was widely reported that Bayern were keen on Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman, who scored a hat-trick in the Europa League final triumph over Leverkusen in 2024.

Lookman was heavily linked with an exit throughout the summer and was training alone and away from the team after interest and two failed bids from Inter Milan.

Bayern made a loan bid with a €28 million option to buy late in the window but according to Fabrizio Romano, Atalanta did not even consider the proposal.

It's claimed here was not even a rejection as the offer was just ignored.

There was no way a deal could be done on those terms, with Atalanta not even indicating an asking price but reports stating €50 million might have swayed them.

No suitable offer arrived and so Lookman is still with Atalanta. He has been courted by Turkish giants Fenerbahce and Galatasaray, who both want to sign him and have extra time with their transfer window open until September 12.

However, Romano stresses that Lookman has no intention of moving to the Turkish Super Lig and it has never been considered an option for the Nigerian.

Still contracted until 2027, Lookman has been included in Atalanta's Champions League squad submitted by Ivan Juric.

They are due to square off against Paris Saint-Germain in their first game in the league phase on 17 September.

Former Everton, Fulham and Leicester winger Lookman has scored 52 goals in 117 games for Atalanta, including 20 in all competitions last season.
