Joshua Kimmich speaks out on Harry Kane's Champions League concerns for Bayern Munich

Harry Kane has urged Bayern Munich bosses to take action.

Joshua Kimmoch has addressed Harry Kane's concerns at Bayern Munich after the star forward appeared to urge club bosses to take action.

Bayern began the defence of their Bundesliga title with a resounding 6-0 victory over RB Leipzig on Friday.

Kane, who scored 26 league goals last season, opened his league account for the new campaign with a stunning hat-trick, bagging three goals in the space of 14 minutes.

Summer signing Luis Diaz also got on the score-sheet.

Diaz joined Bayern from Liverpool in a deal worth £65.5 million.

The Colombian winger has been the club's biggest and most high-profile transfer of the summer, with Jonathan Tah also making the move to the German champions.

But Bayern have lost several players this summer, including Mathys Tel, Kingsley Coman and Joao Palhinha, which has left the squad a 'bit thin'.

Well, that's the assessment of Kane, who is seemingly concerned about the depth within the squad as they look to compete in the Champions League this season.

"It's probably one of the smallest squads I've ever played in," he said. "There's still time until the transfer window closes and decisions could be made by (board member for sport) Max [Eberl], (sporting director) Christoph [Freund] and the coach.

"We have some young players who have done very well in pre-season. We're a bit thin, but that's not in the players' control."

Speaking after his side's victory in their Bundesliga opener, Kimmich was asked about Kane's assessment of Bayern's squad.

"Others are taking care of that," he said as quoted by @iMiaSanMia. "That's why I try not to put too much energy into that and instead use it for celebrating [about his passionate celebration yesterday]."

Bayern's squad will be tested in the Champions League, with the competition in its second season of the new format, which includes more fixtures.

Vincent Kompany's side finished outside the top eight in the group stage phase but secured a spot in the next round before being eliminated by Inter Milan in the quarter-finals.

They will be aiming to win Europe's premier club competition for the first time since 2020.

Who have Bayern Munich been linked with ahead of the transfer deadline?

Bayern Munich continue to be linked with further reinforcements ahead of next month's transfer deadline, having snapped up the aforementioned Diaz and Tah as well as Tom Bischof.

A move for Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho, who excelled in Germany with Borussia Dortmund, has been mooted.

Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson is also on their radar.

Not to mention Xavi Simons, but he appears to be closing in on a move to Chelsea.
