Bayern Munich are willing to match Manchester United's valuation of Marcus Rashford this summer as they look to strengthen in forward areas, but his wages continue to cause issues.
Rashford's future remains uncertain ahead of this summer's World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The England international joined Barcelona from Manchester United last summer on a season-long loan and featured regularly for the La Liga winners, notching 14 goals and 14 assists in all competitions.
Given his positive impact, it looked as if a permanent transfer was on the horizon. However, it appears the landscape of the situation has changed after the Catalan giants signed Anthony Gordon, who also plays on the left flank.

As well as Gordon's arrival, Barcelona are 'seriously considering' a move for free agent Bernardo Silva, according to Spanish publication SPORT, who claim that move would 'completely rule out' a deal for Rashford.
Away from Barca and a number of clubs are also believed to be interested in a move for Rashford, including Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

A report from The Sun suggests Bayern are willing to match Manchester United's £34.5 million valuation of the player but his current wages, believed to be around the £325,000 mark, are a stumbling block.
It is also noted that Rashford would not be a guaranteed starter at the German side, with Luis Diaz being Vincent Kompany's go-to choice across the 2025-26 campaign.
As well as the United forward, Bayern are being linked with numerous players who can play on the left-wing, including Liverpool teenager Rio Ngumoha and Arsenal's Gabriel Martinelli.
As mentioned in the report, Rashford would be the cheapest option in terms of a transfer fee but again, his wages would significantly increase the cost of a move.
Which other clubs are interested in signing Rashford?
Earlier this month, The i Paper reported that up to five clubs, including Premier League sides Newcastle United and Aston Villa, were monitoring the 28-year-old.
Rashford would arrive at St James' Park as a replacement for Anthony Gordon, while he spent the second part of the 2024/25 season on loan at Villa under Unai Emery.

Villa have once again qualified for the Champions League, having done so via two methods - by finishing in fourth place in the Premier League and by winning the Europa League.
When Rashford learned of his inclusion in England's World Cup squad, he paid tribute to Emery for playing a key role in helping him get back into contention on the international stage.
