Marcus Rashford’s future has taken another twist after it emerged that a transfer to Barcelona would be 'completely ruled out' if a scenario involving Anthony Gordon and Bernardo Silva falls into place.
Since joining from Manchester United on a season-long loan last summer, Rashford has featured regularly for the recently-crowned La Liga winners, notching 14 goals in all competitions.
At one stage, it looked as if a switch was all but certain. Back in February, Mundo Deportivo suggested that Rashford was 'very likely' to stay at the Camp Nou beyond this season following a positive start.
For a deal to be made permanent, the Catalan club can exercise a purchase option, which is said to be £26.2 million.

However, the landscape of the situation changed this week, when Barcelona made an offer in the region of £70 million for Newcastle United forward Anthony Gordon, who also plays on the left flank.
In fact, Gordon made the trip to Barcelona on Thursday ahead of a medical, with the England international set to earn around £300,000 per week.
Barcelona also 'making progress' in their pursuit of Bernardo Silva
As well as Gordon, Barcelona are 'seriously considering' a move for free agent Bernardo Silva.
That's according to Spanish publication SPORT, who claim contact between the club's sporting management and Silva's agent, Jorge Mendes, has 'progressed significantly' in recent hours.
Barca believe he would bring excellent leadership qualities to the dressing room, not to mention his versatility in being able to play several positions, including in midfield and on the right wing.
So, how would this impact Rashford? It is said the arrival of Gordon and Silva would 'completely rule out' a switch for the Manchester United forward.
"With the arrival of the Portuguese player and the already confirmed signing of Anthony Gordon, there would be no room in the squad for the English winger," the report adds.

Silva, meanwhile, wants to join the La Liga champions, despite being offered deals by Atletico Madrid and Benfica, according to a report from The Times.
What Marcus Rashford has said about his future
Speaking after the final game of the season, Rashford was asked if he will still be a Barca player next season.
"I don't know," he said. "I am not a magician, but if I was, I would stay. We will see. I came here to win. I want to win as many things as I can. This is one more to add to this.
"This is a wonderful team, they're going to win so much in the future; to be a part of that would be special," added Rashford.
