Anthony Gordon described Marcus Rashford as "lovely" and "very caring" as he revealed what the Manchester United forward said after his big-money move to Barcelona was made official.
At the end of last month, Gordon completed his £70 million switch to Barcelona from Newcastle United, with the 25-year-old signing a five-year deal worth around £300,000 per week.
Rashford, meanwhile, is currently in limbo. Since joining Barca on a season-long loan last summer, Rashford has featured regularly for the recently-crowned La Liga winners, notching 14 goals in all competitions.
At one stage, it looked as if a permanent transfer was likely, but it appears the landscape of the situation has changed after the Catalan giants swooped for Gordon, who also plays on the left flank.

As well as Gordon's arrival, Barcelona are 'seriously considering' a move for free agent Bernardo Silva, according to Spanish publication SPORT, who claim that move would 'completely rule out' a deal for Rashford.
"With the arrival of the Portuguese player and the already confirmed signing of Anthony Gordon, there would be no room in the squad for the English winger," the report adds.
Marcus Rashford's gesture to Anthony Gordon after Barcelona transfer speaks volumes
Amid the uncertainty around Rashford's future at club level, the forward joined up with his England teammates this week ahead of their upcoming World Cup campaign.
Here, he could be seen speaking to Barcelona new boy Gordon, who has since revealed what Rashford said.
"He was just telling me how good the lads are there, the team spirit that they have, which I heard already from the people in Barca," he told talkSPORT.
“So I'm really looking forward to joining up with them. He was also telling me about the city, places to live. He's a lovely guy, very caring. So he was just giving me a bit of information.”

Gordon also opened up about his move to Barcelona, a team he recently described as the biggest in the world.
“It's been a bit of a whirlwind of two weeks, but the best two weeks I've ever had for me and my family," he continued.
“It's been really good because I've told them from a very young age, I said in my interview, that I would get to this point. But they were saying to me, congrats and stuff and this and that.
“I'm not satisfied at all to just play for Barcelona. I want to win everything. This is where my career begins in my mind. So I'm at the stage I always said I was going to be."
“Now I need to get to the next level again," added Gordon.
What Marcus Rashford has said about his future
Speaking after the final game of the La Liga season, Rashford was asked if he'll still be a Barca player next season.
"I don't know," he said. "I am not a magician, but if I was, I would stay. We will see. I came here to win. I want to win as many things as I can. This is one more to add to this.
"This is a wonderful team, they're going to win so much in the future; to be a part of that would be special."
