Re-signing players after letting them go has become common practice for football's elite clubs but paying €80 million is an expensive way to do it.

Bayern Munich already have England captain Harry Kane banging in the goals for them but they're eager to add to their creative firepower, according to reports.

It's understood that Bayern have turned their admiring gaze back in the direction of a Bavarian-born player who was on their books as recently as 2022 and left Germany for Italy.

Juventus fought off competition from Barcelona to bring the highly-rated youngster into their youth system when his Bayern contract expired.

He's now in demand again and Bayern will have to show off the deepness of their pockets to be on the other side of the transaction.

Turkish international attacking midfielder Kenan Yildiz has been a revelation in Turin.

Bayern's apparent interest is the result of the 19-year-old's performances for the Bianconeri, where he's quickly established himself as a Serie A regular since making his senior debut at the beginning of the 2023-24 season.

"According to reports from Tuttosport, Bayern are keen on the idea of bringing Yildiz back to Bavaria after a three-year spell in Turin with Juventus," writes Peter Young at Football Italia.

"Bayern, as things stand, are interested in Yildiz, but have not made any type of formal approach to Juventus, nor to the player’s representatives."

The original report from Italy "indicates that Juventus have no interest in selling, particularly if Champions League qualification is secured, although there are suggestions that the situation could change if the Bianconeri do not finish the 2024-25 season in the top four."

With Yildiz on the target list for Bayern as well as clubs elsewhere, including the Premier League, Juventus have set their stall out with a huge price tag. The teenager now commands a reported asking price of €80 million.

Yildiz is reportedly keen to stay at Juventus. He's played 76 senior games for the Old Lady in all competitions, scoring 12 times and claiming six assists, and has started 25 of Juve's 32 Serie A fixtures in the 2024-25 season.

The former Bayern prospect has also caught the eye in England, where former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes was impressed by his performance against Manchester City in the Champions League.
