A chain of events could be about to start that may end in Newcastle’s Alexander Isak finally joining Liverpool.
The Swedish striker’s transfer saga has dominated the back pages this summer, with The Reds apparently eager to add the 25-year-old to their impressive forward line.
Isak revealed that his relationship with Newcastle “can't continue", citing broken promises about his future in a post on social media.
Isak played a key role in his side’s triumphant 2024/2025 campaign, scoring 27 goals and registering six assists in 42 appearances across all competitions.

His 33 goal contributions helped The Magpies secure UEFA Champions League football with a fifth-place finish in the Premier League table.
Eddie Howe’s side also lifted the club’s first major trophy since 1969 after recording a 2-1 win over Liverpool in the final of the Carabao Cup.
After creating so many happy memories, the forward could be about to leave the club, but a few dominoes may have to fall first.

For Isak to join Liverpool, Newcastle will first want to sign a replacement, and if reports are to be believed, that could be about to happen.
Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Wolves have agreed a deal to sign 24-year-old Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare from Genk.
Arokodare scored 23 goals and registered seven assists for the Belgian side last season.
If he does make it to Molineux, then that could pave the way for Newcastle to sign Jorgen Strand Larsen.

The Norwegian striker has been linked with a move to the North East for several weeks after impressing for Wolves last term.
He scored 14 goals and produced five assists in 38 appearances across all competitions during the 2024/2025 campaign.
Strand Larsen’s move to Newcastle could prove to be the final piece of the jigsaw.
With Wolves and Newcastle reinforced in forward areas, Liverpool would have a much better chance of convincing Howe’s side to sell Isak.

In contrast, Newcastle are yet to record their first win of the campaign, having recorded a 0-0 draw against Aston Villa on the opening day.
