Paris Saint-Germain may make a last-minute bid for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba if Kylian Mbappe seals his dream move to Real Madrid, according to ESPN.

In the final week of one of the most memorable transfer windows in recent memory, there may still be more room for drama.

Pogba is entering the final year of his contract with the Red Devils and has reportedly rejected the first contract extension offer as he is weighing up his future in Manchester.

It has been widely reported that PSG are interested in the Frenchman, yet since they had already signed Lionel Messi, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Sergio Ramos, Achraf Hakimi and Gini Wijnaldum, a deal this summer seemed unlikely.

However, after last night's widespread reports that Real Madrid have bid €160 million for Mbappe, PSG may have the money for one last mega move in this transfer window.

There is an increasing belief that Pogba is open to the idea of returning to France after previously being heavily linked with Juventus and Real Madrid.

When his Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solkjaer has spoken about him in recent weeks, he has spoken highly of the player and relaxed about his contract situation: "Paul has come in, bright with his own personality, he's worked hard over the summer. He's lean and he's enjoying himself.

"We've seen that Paul wants to contribute. Of course you [reporters] don't see him in the dressing room or in training, but he's really determined and he shows his winning mentality and I'm very impressed with him.

"That's gonna be the question every week now until he does [sign a new contract].

"As I've said all the time, Paul is a top player, the talks are between the club and his representatives, I'm not involved in that but he knows how much I care about him and that we want him to play well for us."
