Jamie Carragher slammed Alexis Mac Allister for his attempt to get Noni Madueke sent off during Liverpool's Premier League defeat to Arsenal.
An end-to-end, incident-packed ninety minutes saw Arsenal come away from Anfield with all three points for the first time in 14 years after beating Liverpool 1-0 on Sunday (November 1).
A Kai Havertz tap-in after a pinpoint Declan Rice cross 16 minutes into the game was enough for the champions to restore their lead at the top of the Premier League to three points over Manchester City following their 1-0 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion.

Jamie Carragher slams 'joke' Alexis Mac Allister after Noni Madueke incident
Supporters inside Anfield were treated to an exciting match between two of the league's best teams, and the hosts arguably should have snatched at least a point, but squandered multiple brilliant opportunities to punish the visitors.

A pulsating showdown was also filled with controversy, including when Jurrien Timber tugged Alexander Isak's shirt in the box as he was agonisingly close to getting on the end of Bradley Barcola's cross.
Alexis Mac Allister was equally at the forefront of the drama. Towards the end of the second half, Arsenal players weren't happy that the Argentine shouted in Martin Odegaard's face while he was on the ground after being fouled.
He locked heads with Timber and then Madueke before falling to the ground from virtually no contact from the Gunners winger in a clear attempt to get him sent off.
Referee Andy Madley wasn't buying the theatrics, and neither was former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher, who slammed Mac Allister as a "joke" for his "embarrassing" behaviour on the pitch.
"I want Liverpool to win the game, but I'm delighted he [Madueke] didn't get sent off," Carragher said on Sky Sports. "We have really got to be calling people out and saying 'this is embarrassing'.
"It's ridiculous and it's got to stop. I can't stand it. If someone puts their head back and butts, then red card. But if it's head-to-head and they touch, the other one goes down and the player gets sent off, as a game, call your own people out on it.
"It's a joke from Mac Allister and it's got to stop. People are trying to gain an advantage because they can and red cards are being given for it. Whether it's Howard Webb, the Premier League, the managers getting together, this has got to stop."

Alexis Mac Allister could leave Liverpool next summer
Mac Allister is well known for his fiery temperament on the pitch and sometimes overstepping the mark with his reckless challenges.
The 27-year-old embodies what it means to play for the club, but how he reacted to his altercation with Madueke was rightfully called out by Carragher.
The midfielder's frustration boiling over on the pitch arguably reflects his current position at the club, as according to Sky Sport journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Mac Allister has been told he can leave Liverpool either in January or next summer.
Andoni Iraola is looking to overhaul his midfield in the upcoming windows and dreams of signing Bournemouth Alex Scott - who he captured from Bristol City three years ago - with the sale of Mac Allister potentially facilitating a blockbuster transfer.
In three-and-a-half years at the club, the Argentine international has scored 23 goals and assisted 21 in 164 appearances.
