Atletico Madrid defender Lucas Hernandez showed some serious pace to burn to produce a last-ditch, game-winning tackle against Deportivo la Coruna yesterday.

Diego Simeone's side won 1-0 at the Wanda Metropolitano, courtesy of a 34th minute penalty from Kevin Gameiro, but they owe a lot to their 22-year old left-back/centre-back for the victory.

When a Depor player raced in behind the Atleti backine after being played through one-on-one, a goal seemed an inevitability.

Yet remarkably, France international Hernandez turned on the jets, clocking in an insane 34kmh top speed to get back in and make the best tackle you will see all season.

He had absolutely no right to make that tackle and had to get it spot on or else a red card was coming his way.

Fans on social media have been waxing lyrical about the incredible piece of defending, with his compatriot Benjamin Mendy loving it:

Good luck finding a better tackle from this season...
